How to use
- 1
Drag and drop your PDF, or click to choose a file. You can add several PDFs at once. Every page is measured right away, and you'll see which sizes are mixed — for example “A4 portrait — 12 pages / A3 landscape — 2 pages”.
- 2
Choose the paper size (A4, A3, Letter, or Tabloid 11×17 in) and orientation. The preview shows the result.
- 3
Click “Unify page size” to get a single PDF where every page is the same paper size.
Merge PDFs of different sizes into one, with matching pages
A4 reports with A3 drawings, Letter and Legal pages side by side, scans that came out a few millimeters off — add PDFs with different page sizes and they are combined in the order shown, with every page resized to the same paper size. Each page keeps its aspect ratio, is scaled up or down to fill the sheet, and is centered. Pages whose shape differs from the paper get white margins on two sides.
If you only want to combine files without changing their page sizes, use Merge PDF.
Letter, Tabloid (11×17) and A4
Choose Letter to turn a mix of A4, Legal, and Letter pages into all Letter (8.5×11 in), or Tabloid for 11×17 in — the double-Letter size, the US counterpart of A3. A4 and A3 work the same way for international paper.
When portrait and landscape pages are mixed
Keep each page's orientation (default)
Portrait pages go on portrait paper and landscape pages on landscape paper. Only the size changes.
Make orientation match
Portrait and landscape pages are counted, and whichever there are more of wins (portrait if tied). The other pages are turned 90° counterclockwise to fit — the top of the page ends up on the left, the binding side. Because they are turned rather than shrunk, a wide table is not squeezed onto portrait paper.
Useful when you want to
- ✓Print a PDF that mixes A4 and A3 pages, all on A4
- ✓Make every page Letter size, or 11×17, before printing
- ✓Merge PDFs of different sizes into one file with matching pages
- ✓Fix scanned pages that are slightly off-size and look uneven on screen
- ✓Make a document with a few landscape pages read all in portrait
Good to know
- Fitting a larger page onto smaller paper makes text and graphics smaller (A3 to A4 is about 71%; Tabloid to Letter is about 65%).
- Pages that already match the chosen size and orientation are copied as they are, so their links and annotations are kept. Resized pages are redrawn, so their links and annotations are not kept.
- Form fields still look the same but are not kept as fillable fields.
- Bleed and trim size are not taken into account. For print-ready files, check them with Print Check, and use dedicated software such as Adobe Acrobat if you need to keep trim settings.
